As the first guest designer for this concert series, I wanted to ensure that my poster felt unique from the previous designer for the team. It was also essential to capture the essence of the space. I had been to Shopify’s headquarters in Uptown Waterloo a number of times before and was taken by the rustic atmosphere of the former Seagram distillery. The overprint-style portraits and muted colours (including a bit of green as a nod to Shopify) blended into the space perfectly. This also started a trend of guest designers creating a poster for every concert hosted after this one.
